The broken record skips back to the 3rd term tease

Oct 27, 2025 (280/1461)

As with any narcissist worth their blathering, TOM has circled back on an issue he thinks we forgot about. When all other things in the world seem to be calming down, a good narcissist will circle back on unresolved issues. So here we are on the 3rd term threat again. “Mr. Trump also reiterated that he was interested in serving a third term, saying that he “would love to do it” because of his popularity with his supporters. Mr. Trump, who spoke to journalists for about 30 minutes on a flight to Tokyo from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, during his almost weeklong trip to Asia, seemed intent on presenting himself as fit to lead, if not run for the presidency again. Last week, Stephen K. Bannon, Mr. Trump’s former strategist, said that he was part of “a plan” to help the president get elected to a third term.

“Trump is going to be president in ’28, and people ought to just get accommodated with that,” he said.” Accommodated? You must be joking. And to say let’s see what SCOTUS has to say about that is a fool’s arrand because we all know how that will end.

Could it be? Might some of them actually get it? Why the D’s have been holding out on negotiating about ACA credits. Light dawns on Marblehead. “Congressional Democrats have made extending the tax credits a linchpin of their demands as they’ve rejected a dozen attempts by Senate Republicans to pass a House bill that would reopen the government until Nov. 21 without extending health care subsidies. Many Republicans have taken the stance that there should be no talks about the tax credits until after the shutdown ends. But some are urging GOP leadership to rethink that. “I think the reality is, if costs go up under our control, it could have an impact on us,” Republican Rep. David Valadao of California told CNN. I get that there’s some in leadership who don’t like hearing it, but there’s no denying it. Just watching rates go up and pointing fingers is not what we should be doing in our position,” he added.” Well that’s certainly an understatement. Wise up now or pay the very high price (literally and figuratively) when election time rolls around. People do not forget or forgive what you do to their bank account or their families.

“The looming price hikes come as health insurance premiums for job-based coverage have already risen 6% in 2025, which represents the steepest increase in two decades, according to KFF findings. The average annual premium for a family’s job-based health insurance is now reportedly nearly $27,000, about the same as a new Toyota Corolla hybrid. ACA open enrollment launches on Nov. 1, which is the designated “critical deadline” for congressional lawmakers to come up with an agreement to halt health insurance premium hikes. Rep. Jeff Van Drew, R-N.J., told CNN that he recently discussed the ongoing shutdown with the president over the phone and said Trump made it apparent that “he doesn’t want to hurt people.”

“His concern is, is there something better we can do? Van Drew said, while noting that he told Trump that he didn’t “think we’re going to get it done in a matter of weeks.”

“It’s morally bankrupt not to do it, and it is politically stupid,” Van Drew added.”

Calling a spade a spade in this admin really doesn’t garner much leverage. Defy the man. Demand from your leaders in Congress to negotiate with your partners across the aisle.
