I think we're experiencing COVID-TOM

Nov 6, 2025 (290/1461)

I’m going to call this COVID-TOM. Because first he’s starving people – not paying SNAP benefits due to the shutdown. And now we’re going to lock people down in their homes, or away from their homes (like COVID) when air traffic gets cut tomorrow. “The Federal Aviation Administration announced Wednesday it would reduce air traffic by 10% across “high-volume” markets to maintain travel safety as air traffic controllers go unpaid and exhibit signs of strain during the shutdown.

The affected airports in more than two dozen states include the busiest ones across the U.S., including Atlanta, Denver, Dallas, Orlando, Miami, and San Francisco. In some of the biggest cities — such as New York, Houston and Chicago — multiple airports will be affected. The FAA is imposing the flight reductions to relieve pressure on air traffic controllers who are working without pay during the government shutdown and have been increasingly calling off work. The move also comes as the Trump administration is ramping up pressure on Democrats in Congress to end the shutdown.”

So, like COVID, food is scarce (for some) and travel is restricted (for all). At least there isn’t social distancing….yet. If I get in line behind someone in a MAGA hat, I am for sure backing up at least six feet. Let’s see, what can he come up with to mimic dearly departed COVID next? If it’s a vaccine to ward of MAGA, I’m in.

TOM is once again seeking to make his life better. He has announced a deal to lower prices on obesity drugs. D’ya think we’re gonna see him slim down to a svelte 250 anytime soon? This is abhorrent. These drugs are being abused by people – just as badly as opioids were – and now we’re fostering it? Awesome. Wait for the class action lawsuits. Because they are coming. “President Donald Trump unveiled a deal Thursday with drugmakers Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk to expand coverage and reduce prices for their popular obesity treatments Zepbound and Wegovy.

The drugs are part of a new generation of obesity medications known as GLP-1 receptor agonists that have soared in popularity in recent years.

Access to the drugs has been limited because of their costs — around $500 a month for higher doses — and spotty insurance coverage.” For those who actually need the drug, this is a great move. But the vast majority of people taking this are vanity-dosing. And it’s disgusting. How about asthma medication or blood pressure medication. Why not make deals with those makers?  This also tells you how much hand over fist money Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk are making if they acceded to these demands. Disgusting. All of it. Health care in the country is not. It does not make people healthy. It seeks to find problems that can be “fixed” with drugs (which cost a sh&& ton). And it isn’t care. Because if we really cared, we’d never let our citizens get in to the crappy shape they’re in to begin with. Big Pharma = Big Tobacco. No difference from how I look at things. Get ‘em hooked, then charge them a ton.

TOM thinks he's living in Minority Report (and wants to kill the pre-cogs)

Dec 14, 2025 (328/1461) TOM appears to be living out Minority Report in real life. He has the audacity to tell the ICC that there will...
