Twenty-four years since this date became “a date.” A “where were you?” conversation piece. A dismal and pivotal part of our history. And it’s just one day after more senseless violence and death. Not only Charlie Kirk’s death but another school shooting in Colorado. Which has become so commonplace that it hardly even hit the news cycle. Here we go with thoughts and prayers again. Who? Who will have the courage to stand up to the gun lobby? And the righteous who claim they need these guns to protect themselves.

The Epstein ring might be starting to close in on TOM. “Britain has abruptly removed its ambassador to the United States, Peter Mandelson, after newly disclosed emails showed his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein was far deeper than previously acknowledged. The Foreign Office said the correspondence differed “materially” from what officials knew at the time of his appointment.

Among the documents was a 2008 email in which Mandelson suggested Epstein’s conviction should be contested. Officials said the new revelations, combined with concern for victims, prompted his immediate removal. Across the Atlantic, Epstein’s shadow loomed large in Washington as Senate Republicans blocked Democratic leader Chuck Schumer’s push to force the Justice Department to release Epstein records. The motion failed 51–49, with only Sens. Rand Paul of Kentucky and Josh Hawley of Missouri siding with Democrats.

Schumer said, “The American people need to see everything that’s in the Epstein file,” accusing Republicans of enabling “lying, obfuscation, coverups.” 

Majority Leader John Thune of South Dakota dismissed the proposal as a “political stunt,” while Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, said a Justice Department funding bill would be a better venue for such a measure.” What the F are these R’s so afraid of? That their great leader is a criminal (already is); that he has done hideous and illegal things to women? (pretty much guaranteed). Why else hide this information from the people of the nation? Don’t even try to tell me they have the interests of the survivors at heart. Because I am not buying that for even a bargain price.

If TOMs immigration and ICE raids are so intense because he is worried about keeping people out of this country, it’s starting to work. “Bad Bunny says immigration raids are a key reason he left the United States off his upcoming world tour. The Puerto Rican superstar told i-D magazine that mass deportations of Latinos influenced his decision to avoid U.S. concert dates. “Knowing ICE, if Bad Bunny were to tour in the U.S., they’ll use the locations of arenas and stadiums just to arrest and deport people,” one X user wrote at the time.

Now, the artist has confirmed those fears played a role. 

“There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the US, and none of them were out of hate—I’ve performed there many times. All of [the shows] have been successful,” he told i-D.

Bad Bunny goes on to say he even enjoys performing in the U.S. and that fans could travel to the parts of the world he hasn’t visited much for shows.

“But there was the issue of—like, f—-g ICE could be outside [my concert]. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about,” he said.

Instead of touring the mainland, Bad Bunny has been performing a 30-show residency in Puerto Rico. The run of sold-out concerts generated a $200 million economic impact, according to Forbes.” Good on PR for taking money from the hands of We the Hateful.

And since we haven’t had any yet this week, someone’s getting fired. “The U.S. Secret Service had a slip-up while working at President Trump’s own golf club in Virginia. On Wednesday, the agency confirmed one of its screeners failed to detect a Glock handgun in a Trump National Club member’s bag.

The incident occurred while the president was on site last month. That member later self-reported, saying he forgot he had the gun. The Secret Service says video shows the member was never near Trump that day. However, the officer who missed the weapon has been pulled from duty and placed on leave.” Who the F forgets they have a Glock?? And really? Right up close and personal to the Prez? I dunno seems like there may be less conspiracy in the conspiracy theory that the TOM assassination attempts were set ups.
