Well it was certainly something day. Liberation? MMMM maybe not so much. I definitely do not feel liberated from the impact on my investments. Nor do I feel like the burdens of higher prices are going to be lifted from my brain and wallet. Today was the official start of the Tariffs Wars. US versus well, everyone. Pick someone. Even tiny Bhutan is likely going to get whacked on something. Vengeance is mine saith TOM. (Bhutan has some of those “rare earths” THAT TOM gets all hot and bothered about so maybe he’ll just take them over).
BUT – there was a little glimmer of good news from the “you can totally buy a republic” front. Because, it appears, that you cannot. At least not yet. Musky, not an elected member of anything, has been “campaigning” and buying votes – literally, folks – for a judge on the Supreme Court of Wisconsin. Giving out $1 million checks to people for voting. BUT THEY DID NOT WIN. The Dem-supported candidate won. The best quote from the race, "As a little girl growing up in Chippewa Falls, I never could have imagined that I’d be taking on the richest man in the world for justice in Wisconsin," Crawford told supporters Tuesday night. "And we won." Yes you did, sister. It was the win heard round the world. Trust me.
And could that spell the end of Musky in TOM’s House? TBD but we do know TOM doesn’t like losers. He’s said that a million times. At least. No one has said it more. We’ve never seen anything like how many times he’s used that phrase. Ok, ok, I made my point. Seems there’s a little turmoil in Neverneverland. “President Donald Trump told the Cabinet that world’s richest man Elon Musk will leave his administration post “soon,” specifically within the coming weeks, according to a Politico report. Musk’s involvement in the government has caused public sentiment around his company’s to deteriorate; a departure from the executive branch would allow him to return to his businesses. The White House publicly rejected the reports, calling the news “fake.” Stay tuned sports fans, the next match of TOM tennis could get good.
