The remake is never as good as the original. TOM 2.0 falls squarely into that category. Even with ½ the cast being replaced (clearly by up and comers not seasoned actors) the remake still sucks. ½ star. Would not recommend.

And I learned a valuable piece of info yesterday when Rangers in Yosemite scaled El Cap and hung an American flag upside down from the top. “The inverted flag is considered a sign of distress or an imminent threat to the country. It was displayed as a protest against the massive job cuts affecting a significant number of National Park workers.” 

I feel like I will just have to walk around for the next four years with an upside down flag as a cape. I’m not sure there is a greater sign of distress and imminent threat to the country than TOM 2.0.

And the family infighting continues….Bannon tossing barbs at Musky is nothing.

“Dad said we have to respond to the justify-your-existence email by midnight tonight!”

“Yah, but Mom said we only have to if we want to. And we can still have dessert even if we don’t,.”

“The Office of Personnel Management formally notified agencies this afternoon that the “What did you do last week” email sent over the weekend is voluntary and failure to respond will not equate to a resignation.”

Reckoning back to my very petty 80’s teenage self I only have this to say: “ohhhhh buuurn on you, Musky.”

But lo! There is actually something in the current administration that falls into the category of “too low of standards” for inflicting pain upon undocumented immigrants. “The Trump administration has halted plans to house migrants in tents at Guantanamo Bay over concerns the facilities do not meet detention standards.” Could that be because it came out that “a corporate conglomerate now running the US government’s immigration detention center at the Guantánamo Bay naval base on a lucrative contract has been the subject of critical audits and a civil rights complaint over conditions at three other migrant lockups it has run within the US, documents reviewed by the Guardian show.”

And the great TOM barometer – the Stock Market – took another hit today when TOM doubled down on the tariff threat with Mexico and Canada. With the usual:

Well I think we’re going to do this. We had always planned to do this. But they whined and pleaded and begged us not to so we waited for a month. But I think this is a very good idea and we’ve really looked at it a long time and it’s the best tariff deal for our country ever in its history. No one had ever had tariffs as beautiful as these tariffs. So we will be going forward with the tariffs on March 1 because we said February 1 but then the whining and begging. So. Yes. Yes I think March 1 is our do date on the tariffs. And what a great outcome we’ll have from these tariffs.

Ummmm you mean if great outcome = stock market plunge.  Yup  Great outcome, TOM. You sure showed those Canucks a thing or two.
