TOM could care less about emissions. For so many reasons, but mostly because he couldn’t give two rats’ asses about the future. Future kids, future planet, future destruction. Because he’ll be dead. And also because he probably thinks he can buy his way out of any uncomfortable situation he ends up in. “President Donald Trump has begun the process of rolling back fuel requirements for new vehicles. The new plan would considerably reduce the requirements set by the Biden administration. “It’s the CAFE standards, which is corporate average fuel economy,” Stephanie Valdez Streaty, director of industry insights at Cox Automotive, told Straight Arrow News. “So basically, it kind of dictates how manufacturers build their portfolio. So, if they have more big truck SUVs, they need to balance that out with pure batteries that have better efficiencies. It’s getting that average of fuel efficiency to meet those guidelines set by the government.” “Today my administration is taking historic action to lower costs for American consumers, protect American auto jobs, and make buying a car much more affordable for countless American families and also safer,” Trump said during the announcement on Dec. 3. “We’re officially terminating Joe Biden’s ridiculously burdensome, horrible actually, CAFE standards that imposed expensive restrictions and all sorts of problems, gave all sorts of problems to automakers.” So we’ll pass those problems onto the US consumer and other countries – who may not import US cars is they become less and less efficient.
Since the law signed by TOM calling for release of the Epstein files is now enacted, it makes fair game for the Maxwell grand jury records to be requested. And a judge agrees. “A Manhattan federal judge on Tuesday granted the Justice Department’s motion to unseal the records of the grand jury investigation of Ghislaine Maxwell, the longtime companion of Jeffrey Epstein who is serving a 20-year prison sentence after being convicted in 2021 of sex trafficking a minor and other counts.” Could be another distraction tactic. But we’ll know more on Dec 19 when the Epstein files are due to be released.
