The hubris!!! One DAY after the K Center Board disgustingly voted to deface the auspicious center and add TOMs name to it, the sign is up. Unbelievable. There could not be more of a distraction tactic than this. Ohhhh lookie. Shiny new object. Nothing to see in the Epstein files, folks. No illegal war in Venezuela to be concerned about. Nothing wrong in the Capitol at all. Just beautiful, sparkly new toys, girls and boys. “President Donald Trump’s name was added to the facade of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, a day after the center’s board voted to rename that Washington, D.C., institution the “Trump-Kennedy Center.”
Workers affixed Trump’s name to the building, above to the center’s original name. The center’s website had already been updated on Thursday to say it is now “The Trump Kennedy Center.”
He can’t manage to get anything useful done in the admin. Shuts down government for a month and a half, but overnight can update an entire building and a website. Really? They made that sign overnight? ‘Cause the Board just voted yesterday to approve the change!! He really does think we’re a bunch of morons. Looks like blatant dictatorial reign to me. This isn’t the first time lunatics in power have renamed whatever they choose after themselves. “The most prominent dictator known for renaming everything after himself (and family) was Saparmurat Niyazov (also called "Turkmenbashi") of Turkmenistan, who renamed months, the word for bread, cities, and built monuments to himself, though many of these eccentricities were later reversed by his successor.” There are a few choice words I would like to rename for TOM. If he’d like my opinion I’m happy to suggest.
Descension in the ranks of MAGA at the Turning Point conference. The verbal brawl was real and it was mean girl level vicious. “A simmering battle over the future of President Donald Trump’s political movement exploded on one of the right’s biggest stages Thursday, as prominent conservative influencers used Turning Point USA’s annual youth conference to attack each other and their competing visions. First up was Ben Shapiro, who described Tucker Carlson and others as grifters and charlatans, guilty of misleading their audiences with falsehoods and conspiracy theories. Shapiro sharply criticized Carlson, a former Fox News host, for interviewing outspoken antisemite Nick Fuentes on his podcast, calling it “an act of moral imbecility.” Shapiro’s critiques of Owens and Carlson reflect a deepening fissure within the Republican Party over Israel and its war in Gaza, with some younger conservatives questioning whether unflinching support for the country is in line with Trump’s “America First” agenda.”
Keep your eye on this one. It might be the only plaudit I give TOM over four years. “President Trump on Friday announced deals with nine pharmaceutical companies to reduce some drug prices, the latest step in his bid to try to align U.S. costs with the lower drug prices in European countries. Under the arrangements, the manufacturers will offer some of their drugs through websites where Americans can bypass insurance and use their own money to buy the products.
To help patients navigate that process, the Trump administration plans to create a site called TrumpRx.gov, which will direct patients to the manufacturers’ direct-buy websites. Officials put up a promotional version of the TrumpRx website this fall and said they plan for it to be operational in January. In the United States, prices for brand-name drugs are three times as high, on average, as those in peer nations. Mr. Trump has long complained that the United States is unfairly subsidizing lower prices in European countries, a view echoed by many pharmaceutical executives.” Can you imagine if this really is the only effective, caring, positive thing that TOM does in his second term? It isn’t outrageous to think so.
