Seems nearly an every day occurrence now. TOM wants to fire someone. It is clearly illegal. Sooooo. Dupe-di-do let’s shuffle to the Supreme Corruptors of the US and ask them to say it’s ok. He think these guys are on retainer for TOM & Co. Oh wait. They are. I forgot. “President Donald Trump took his effort to remove a governor from the Federal Reserve to the Supreme Court on Thursday, asking the justices to remove Lisa Cook from the powerful board a day after it cut interest rates for the first time in months.
Trump’s emergency appeal put the issue of Fed independence – a question of monumental significance for the US economy – onto the court’s docket months after the justices appeared to carve out special protections for the agency. On the other hand, Trump’s effort to remove Cook involves new legal theories that may find purchase on the 6-3 conservative court.
If Trump is successful in dismissing Cook, it would mark the first time a Fed governor was fired by a president in the central bank’s 111-year history.” Everything is an “emergency” because that’s the only way to get the Court to hear all of his grievances and illegal wishes.
“Cook warned the court in a brief Thursday that her removal could threaten economic stability, send shock waves through the markets and raise broader questions about the independence of the central bank. Even as it has allowed the administration to temporarily remove the leaders of other independent agencies this year, the Supreme Court has appeared to draw a line of protection around the Fed. The central bank, the court said earlier this year, is “a uniquely structured, quasi-private entity” with a “distinct historical tradition” that set it apart from other agencies.” This is our Brazil moment, folks. Will they or won’t they? Either stand up for what is right and legal or this is the turning point for our country into military and or dictatorship rule.
And in a most interesting twist of fate, the D’s are introducing legislation re: free speech. HA! Wait, ain’t that the other guys’ schtick? “After ABC suspended comedian Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show following a threat from the head of the Federal Communications Commission, congressional Democrats have denounced the Trump administration’s threats against political critics and unveiled a bill that would bolster free speech protections against government officials.
While the bill is unlikely to gain traction in a Republican-controlled Congress, Democrats harshly criticized the Trump administration for pressuring ABC toward the suspension of Kimmel’s show following his comments on how Republicans were responding to the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk.” The people who claim the right of free speech for Charlie Kirk are going to kill a bill about the right of free speech. Whatever kind of speech that might be. I guess I’m a slow learner. It’s only free speech if it’s the “right” speech. Not “A” right to free speech.
DOJ is tossing one of its own studies. Guess why? YUP. Because it shows far-right extremists are more likely to commit homicide! Um. Er. Ahem. “The Trump administration’s Department of Justice has removed a study from its website that found far-right extremists are responsible for more “ideologically motivated” homicides than far-left or Islamist extremists.
The move comes as some Republicans, namely President Donald Trump, have spoken out about the harm the left has caused to our nation in the wake of the assassination of Republican political activist Charlie Kirk.
According to the study, “Since 1990, far-right extremists have committed far more ideologically motivated homicides than far-left or radical Islamist extremists, including 227 events that took more than 520 lives.”
Whoopsie daisy. Can’t let that cat outta the bag……
