From the outside it might look like a coup is underfoot. From the inside as well, to be honest. TOM is sending the National Guard into DC. The irony of TOM talking about the lawlessness and corruption and lack of safety in DC is not lost here. Because the greatest crimes, corruption and loss of safety are occurring in DC – at 1600 Penn Ave. In the big old Oval Office. “The U.S. military is preparing to activate National Guard troops in the nation’s capital as part of President Trump’s campaign against crime there, a Defense Department official said. The president was expected to announce at a White House news conference on Monday that up to several hundred District of Columbia National Guard personnel will be sent to support law enforcement officers in the city, the official said. Though crime rates in Washington, D.C., have been falling, Mr. Trump has claimed that they are “totally out of control” and has threatened a federal takeover. “I will, MAKE OUR CAPITAL GREAT AGAIN!” Mr. Trump said in a Truth Social post Monday morning.” In addition, FBI agents are being re-assigned to street patrols! Flatfoots. This is not in any way shape or form how they are trained to operate.
In yet more irony, on the Left coast, the trial regarding deployment of the
National Guard to LA is about to start. “A federal judge in San Francisco will
consider evidence and hear arguments on whether the Trump administration
violated federal law when it deployed
National Guard soldiers and U.S. Marines to Los Angeles following protests
over immigration raids this summer. The 1878 Posse Comitatus Act prevents the
president from using the military as a domestic police force. The case could
set precedent for how Trump can deploy the guard in the future in California or
other states.” I’m sure TOM will say
that the ruling (if the gov is found “guilty”) doesn’t apply to DC because it’s
not a state. And left in the dust and as a deer in headlights is the Mayor of
DC. “Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser held a press conference Monday
following President
Donald Trump’s announcement that he’s taking over Washington’s police
department and activating 800 members of the National Guard in the hopes of reducing crime and tackling homelessness in the
city. Trump’s plan prompted the District of Columbia’s mayor to voice concerns
about the potential use of the National Guard to patrol the streets.
“While this action today is unsettling and unprecedented, I can’t say that given some
of the rhetoric of the past, that we’re totally surprised,” Bowser said.
“My message to residents is this,” Bowser added. “We know that access to our democracy is tenuous. That is why you have heard me and many Washingtonians before me advocate for full statehood.”
TOM is also now a mind reader. He seems to believe that simply looking into Putin’s eyes will give him the insight he needs to know if the war will end. “Trump suggests he’ll know if Putin wants a peace deal with Ukraine soon into their meeting: He said he thought Friday’s sitdown with Putin in Alaska would be “really a feel-out meeting,” adding he expected to determine mere moments into his meeting whether it would be possible to work out a deal to halt the war in Ukraine.” Mere moments!
