TOM sues Murdoch's WSJ

July 18, 2025 (179/1461)

Well that took no time. The WSJ published a letter, credited to TOM, sent to J Epstein on his 50th. And to no one’s surprise, TOM is suing. “President Donald Trump is filing a libel lawsuit against the publisher of the Wall Street Journal and reporters who wrote a story about a collection of letters gifted to Jeffrey Epstein for his 50th birthday in 2003, including a note bearing Trump’s name and an outline of a naked woman. The president added in that post that Murdoch, the owner of News Corp, the Journal’s parent company, “stated that he would take care of it.” “But, obviously, did not have the power to do so,” Trump added.” I’m pretty sure Murdoch has that power. And I’m pretty sure he’d wield it if he thought that his paper was going down for doing something malicious. Just reporting the facts, TOM.

And as TOM continues to go after Powell – for overspending on the Fed Reserve building reno’s, it seems that the finger pointing might very well go right back to TOM & Co. “President Donald Trump has looked to the marble finishes and hefty price tag of the Federal Reserve headquarters to claim grounds to fire Chair Jerome Powell, with whom he has tussled for years over interest rates. But the extensive use of marble in the building is, at least in part, the result of policies backed by Trump himself. The Fed’s architects said the central bank had wanted glass walls to reflect the Fed as a transparent institution, but three Trump appointees to a local commission felt marble best fit the building’s historic character. Marble was added as a result, according to the minutes of the Commission of Fine Arts, which advises the federal government on architecture.”

Well he can’t get deals done on tariffs. Excuse me, Tariffs. But TOM is wheeling and dealing with American lives. “Venezuela released 10 jailed Americans on Friday in exchange for getting home scores of migrants deported by the United States to El Salvador months ago under the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown, officials said.

The arrangement represents a diplomatic achievement for Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, helps President Donald Trump in his goal of bringing home Americans jailed abroad and lands El Salvador a swap that its president had proposed months ago.” So now we trade people like chattel. Forcibly deport people to horrific places and then use that as a bargaining chip to get Americans back from where ever TOM chooses. “Bukele said his country had handed over all the Venezuelan nationals in its custody. The Venezuelan government said it had paid a “steep price” by having to release the U.S. nationals but was pleased to have its own jailed citizens back.”

ICYMI, Blondi (I have to thank Loomer for that one) toured Alcatraz yesterday. Not as sightseers in SF, but to scout for re-opening. The amount my head shakes over this one, is a large amount. HUGE. The biggest amount anyone’s ever seen a head shake.

“During her tour on Thursday, Bondi discussed the idea of reopening Alcatraz during an interview with Fox News, saying the facility could house several types of prisoners.

“Alcatraz could hold the worst of the worst. It could hold middle-class violent prisoners, it could hold illegal aliens, it could hold anything,” Bondi said. “This is a terrific facility, needs a lot of work, but no one has been known to escape from Alcatraz and survive.”

She may be out of Speaker but she is not down and gone yet. “Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi — whose district includes the island — called the proposed reopening of the prison “the Trump administration’s stupidest initiative yet.”

“It should concern us all that clearly the only intellectual resources the Administration has drawn upon for this foolish notion are decades-old fictional Hollywood movies,” Pelosi said.” TOM does love some Hollywood. At least the idea. Big screen, bright lights and all.
