It’s my way or the highway is definitely in play for TOM & Co these days. Even for members of their own ranks. “Sen. Rand Paul says he and his family have been uninvited from the White House picnic for members of Congress, accusing the administration of targeting him over his opposition to some of President Donald Trump’s policies.
“I think I’m the first senator in the history of the United States to be uninvited to the White House picnic,” Paul told reporters on Wednesday. “I just find this incredibly petty. I mean — I have been, I think, nothing but polite to the President.” TOMs 14 year old mean girl persona is raging. Rand doesn’t like my beautiful bill so he can’t come to my party. And he’s not my friend anymore.
But even more stunning and terrifying. Alex Padilla, CA Senator was handcuffed trying to ask a question of Sec Noem. “The forcible removal and handcuffing of the California senator just as he was identifying himself marked the latest escalation between the Trump administration and Democrats over immigration, with members of Padilla’s party roundly denouncing the encounter.
Video provided by Padilla’s office shows the senator approaching the lectern as Noem was speaking. He was stopped and shoved back by multiple men.
“I’m Senator Alex Padilla. I have questions for the secretary,” he said. He tried to speak further as he was forcibly removed into an adjoining room, where he yelled “Hands off!” “If this is how this administration responds to a senator with a question … you can only imagine what they’re doing to farmworkers, to cooks, to day laborers,” Padilla said. “We will hold this administration accountable.”
“As this event with Senator Padilla shows, the Republicans evidently embrace using fists,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts told POLITICO. “Violence is never the answer. … It’s looking more and more like a fascist state out there every day.”
“It’s very disturbing,” Sen. Raphael Warnock of Georgia told POLITICO. “We need answers.”
Sen. Adam Schiff of California said he was “disgusted by what I saw,” adding that Padilla has “every right to ask questions.”
As the World’s Biggest Bully continues his rampage, immigrants here on humanitarian visas from four different countries have been notified that they are no longer welcome. “Since October 2022, about 532,000 people from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela were allowed to enter the U.S. under the program created by the Biden administration. They arrived with financial sponsors and were given two-year permits to live and work in the U.S.
DHS said that the letters informed people that both their temporary legal status and their work permit was revoked “effective immediately.” It encouraged any person living illegally in the U.S. to leave using a mobile application called CBP Home and said that individuals will receive travel assistance and $1,000 upon arrival at their home country.” These people all arrived with financial sponsors. It’s not as if they are freeloaders sitting back on the sofa watching day time TV and swilling White Claw. Good lord. These people are likely working harder and more legitimately that most of TOMs entire family and certainly and “friends” that he might claim to have.
Now Hegsloth thinks that because he has a line to the throne, he can act like the king too. “The Pentagon chief initially deflected when asked at a House Armed Services Committee hearing whether he would abide by a court’s decision if it determined President Donald Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops and Marines was unlawful. “What I can say is we should not have local judges determining foreign policy or national security policy for the country,” Hegseth said.
But the Defense secretary later clarified that he would obey a decision from the high court.
“We’re not here to defy a Supreme Court ruling,” he said.” I don’t know. I feel like that’s TBD. Like if TOM says well that’s not what I told them I wanted them to do then Stupid Pete will say “oh ok, cool. F you guys up there on your bench.”
“The Defense secretary, in separate congressional testimony on Wednesday, suggested the administration could deploy troops elsewhere to assist in roundups and deportations. At that hearing, he wasn’t able to immediately cite the legal justification for the deployments.” Ummm that’s because there is not one.
