Nixing Narcan and other inane actions

Apr 26, 2025 (96/1461)

I had to get out my abacus for this one. Because counting the number of lawsuits that have been filed against TOM and his gov requires more fingers and toes than I, my bestie, and her whole family, have. 143. When I first checked this out, way back on March 27, he was only up to 59! Whew. TOMmy boy has been busy as a little bee.

I try not to outright call TOM dumb. But this time I have no other choice. This. Is. Dumb.

“The opioid overdose reversal medication commercially known as Narcan saves hundreds of thousands of lives a year and is routinely praised by public health experts for contributing to the continuing drop in opioid-related deaths. But the Trump administration plans to terminate a $56 million annual grant program that distributes doses and trains emergency responders in communities across the country to administer them, according to a draft budget proposal.” Dumb. Young people carry Narcan the way that hikers carry bear spray. You hope you never need it, but if you do (or someone you’re with does), it literally saves your life.  So TOM’s logic for using the Alien Enemies Act to deport people was that the influx of fentanyl and opioids across the country was tantamount to war being waged on the US population. Ok. So fine, use that questionable logic to unleash your hate upon non-white people. But for the love of God, do not then punish the “victims” of that war by removing their bullet proof vests, as it were. “In 2024, recipients of the naloxone grants, including cities, tribes and nonprofit groups, trained 66,000 police officers, fire fighters and emergency medical responders, and distributed over 282,500 naloxone kits, according to a spokesman for the substance abuse agency.”

In two of the reddest of the red states, “Tennessee reports that between 2017 and 2024, 103,000 lives saved were directly attributable to naloxone. In Kentucky, which trains and supplies emergency medical workers in 68 rural communities, a health department spokeswoman noted that in 2023, overdose fatalities dropped by nearly 10 percent.” Unconscionable.

What’s next? Nixing nebulizer treatments for children and adults with severe asthma?

And only now is TOM finally questioning whether Putin really doen’t want to end the war. Now? Like he got up this a.m., had a little chat with Zelenskyy and scratched his head and was like: Huh, waddya know? Maybe my buddy Vlad likes this war thing. “President Donald Trump said Saturday that he doubts Russia’s Vladimir Putin wants to end his war in Ukraine, expressing new skepticism that a peace deal can be reached soon. Only a day earlier, Trump had said Ukraine and Russia were “ very close to a deal.”

“There was no reason for Putin to be shooting missiles into civilian areas, cities and towns, over the last few days,” Trump said in a social media post as he flew back to the United States after attending Pope Francis’ funeral at the Vatican, where he met briefly with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.”

Rocket science level analysis going on there, TOM. “Trump also hinted at further sanctions against Russia.

“It makes me think that maybe he doesn’t want to stop the war, he’s just tapping me along, and has to be dealt with differently, through “Banking” or “Secondary Sanctions?” Too many people are dying!!!” Trump wrote.” As the kiddos say, SMH…..
