The Jellyfish in the Senate

Mar 14, 2025 (53/1461)

Apparently several Dem Senators have morphed life forms….into jellyfish. Spineless, globules of uselessness. Enough Dems caved for the CR to pass and save the GOP from having mud on their faces. And even better, they’ve been given 6 months free rein to do whatever they’d like with the gov. You thought this circus was bad? With no holds barred and CONGRESS APPROVED spending now solidified by the pansies on the left, the downfall of democracy is now being funded by US. Because the people we put into office to do our bidding folded. Remind me to call them all up for my next card game because clearly there isn’t a poker face among them. Shameful.

“The Democratic Party was fracturing Friday as a torrent of frustration and anger was unleashed at Senate Democrats, led by Sen. Chuck Schumer, who faced what they saw as an awful choice: shut the government down or consent to a Republican funding bill that allows President Donald Trump to continue slashing the federal government.” Maybe fracturing is what is needed in this party. Rip it apart. Pull out those who truly care about the people and the reasons for this country’s existence and dump the rest. Maybe there’s a new party to be had. Debates for decades about the need for a 3rd party may finally have shown there to no longer be a question of its necessity.

And another clown showed up a little late to TOM’s circus. Mehmet Oz, TOM’s pick to be the next CMS admin. Yet one more TV personality has come to the biggest television show on earth – TOM’s House. It’s a shitshow you can’t stop watching. In his Senate confirmation hearings today, “He largely escaped tough questions from either side of the aisle, displaying his on-air charm as he deflected Democrats’ most pointed concerns about potentially radical changes in health coverage for not only those 65 and older but also for poor children.”

“Senator Ron Wyden, Democrat of Oregon, held out an initial promise of some challenging questions. He accused Dr. Oz of dodging almost $500,000 in Social Security and Medicare taxes in recent years by using a tax exemption related to limited partnerships, something Democrats concluded after reviewing Dr. Oz’s tax returns.” So the guy deciding if we’re going to get what we are DUE after paying into FICA and SSA for years hasn’t been paying in. Of course he could give two hoots if those who are relying on this for their care in retirement don’t get covered. Oz seems to think people who are ill because of “lifestyle choices” shouldn’t receive health care. Really? So if the most affordable food someone can get – because they live at the poverty level – if shitty fast food so that’s what they eat (versus starving) they should be punished for it? Because someone can only afford to live in a food desert (A "food desert" refers to a geographic area where residents have limited access to affordable and nutritious food, especially fresh fruits and vegetables, due to the absence of grocery stores or other sources of healthy food options within a reasonable distance.”) it’s their fault that their health is compromised? Help me out with this logic rich, privileged, white man because I’m just not tracking it.

And once again, as Barbra Streisand sang, “bring in the clowns…..they’re already here….”
