DC nightlife now a dud

Aug 19, 2025 (211/1461)

I see another Loomer paranoia move in the works with TOM’s actions today. “The Trump administration has ordered the revocation of the security clearances of 37 current and former national security officials, including some who worked on the intelligence community’s assessment that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election, according to people familiar with the matter who were not authorized to discuss it by name.

A memo from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which was seen by The Associated Press, accuses the targeted individuals of having engaged in the “politicization or weaponization of intelligence” to advance personal or partisan gain.” So can we revoke TOMs complete authority because literally every single thing he does is politicization or weaponization of intelligence to advance personal gain. Even the made up “intel.” Cite something that he’s done that you think might not have been for personal gain and I will put money down that we can find just how it ultimately benefits him the most.

And in his adopted hometown (DC not Mar a Lago), even the rich no longer want to go out at night. So much for increasing the safety on the streets of DC. Now people are afraid to step out of their homes due to the military state they now live in. “The number of patrons dining out in D.C. has plummeted since President Trump deployed federal troops across the city, according to research conducted by OpenTable. The largest drop off was last Wednesday, when the number of diners dipped by 31%. Despite this data, the president told Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office on Monday that restaurants in the District are "busier than ever.” HAHAHA of course he did. “The president claims that Washington has been "overtaken by violent gangs and bloodthirsty criminals, roving mobs of wild youth, drugged-out maniacs and homeless people," despite the fact that violent crime in D.C. is at a 30-year low. More specifically, total violent crime in the city was down 35% in 2024 from the year prior, according to Justice Department data.” You know all of the people who created those (very real) statistics are about to get fired, right? Like any day we’re going to hear about mass firings from some obscure department in the gov. And Open Table will probably get hit with some sort of fine for “lying.”

“Khalid Pitts, co-owner of Cork Wine Bar in Northwest D.C., said that with the "firing of federal workers" and the "uneasiness in the city," his business has seen numbers go down in recent weeks.

"Hospitality is about welcoming people," he said. "I can't welcome people through my doors if (they're) afraid to go out of (their) doors."

He says his guests feel like they're "living in a police state." From the inmates’ mouths.

Putin is playing everyone like a fiddle. Will he or won’t he? It likely depends upon which side of the bed he wakes up on the day he’s asked about a meeting with Zelensky. “The Kremlin has played down talk of an imminent summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky, as Donald Trump renewed his call for the two leaders to meet to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.

The push for a bilateral meeting comes after the US president met Putin in Alaska last week, and welcomed seven European leaders and Zelensky to the White House on Monday.

Trump admitted the conflict was "a tough one" to solve and conceded it was possible the Russian president was not interested in ending hostilities.

"We're going to find out about President Putin in the next couple of weeks," he said on Tuesday. "It's possible that he doesn't want to make a deal." On Tuesday, it was reported that Putin had suggested to Trump that Zelensky could travel to Moscow for talks, something Ukraine was never likely to accept.

The proposal may have been Russia's way of putting forward an option so far-fetched Kyiv could not possibly have agreed to it.

Talks over the last few days appear to have given Trump a renewed understanding of the complexities of the war and the gulf between Moscow's demands and Kyiv's position.” TOM is dying. He sees that Nobel Peace Prize slipping from his grip yet one more time. And of course, it’s everyone else’s fault. No possibility that he just isn’t worthy.

Loomer is TOM's astrologist (a la Nancy R)

Aug 18, 2025 (210/1461)

It’s like Nancy Reagan and her astrologist are back in the WH. But this time the buzz in the ear is even more out of this world than the astrologer. Looney Tunes Loomer is back at it. “A day after conservative activist Laura Loomer posted videos on social media of children from Gaza arriving in the U.S. for medical treatment and questioning how they got visas, the State Department said it was halting all visitor visas for people from Gaza pending a review.

The State Department said Saturday the visas would be stopped while it looks into how “a small number of temporary medical-humanitarian visas” were issued in recent days. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Sunday told “Face the Nation” on CBS that the action came after ”outreach from multiple congressional offices asking questions about it.” Yah, those little kiddos probably have bombs in their blankies.

Round II of Zelensky v TOM. Less fireworks. More heads of state than you could shake a stick at. And TOM got all of their names and countries correct! Score one for the big guy. “As European leaders showered praise on US President Donald Trump for seeking an end to the war, they also all sought to advance a more delicate argument that Trump has resisted at times in the past: Supporting peace means first supporting Ukraine.

“If we want to reach peace and if we want to guarantee justice, we have to do it united,” Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni told Trump. “We are on the side of Ukraine.”

“It’s team Europe and team United States helping Ukraine,” Finnish President Alexander Stubb added shortly afterward.”

And the waiting for actual movement toward resolution begins again. What do you think? Two weeks?

And in the back closet of the Residence, the Epstein files are leaking out. Little by little. “The Justice Department has agreed to provide to Congress documents from the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking investigation, a key House lawmaker said Monday in announcing a move that appears to avert, at least temporarily, a potential separation of powers clash. The committee’s subpoena sought all documents and communications from the case files of Epstein and his former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell. It also demanded records about communications between Democratic President Joe Biden’s administration and the Justice Department regarding Epstein, as well as documents related to an earlier federal investigation into Epstein in Florida that resulted in a non-prosecution agreement in 2007.” That’s a lot of paper (ok digital files). Somewhere in there is something TOM & Co do not want the rest of the world to see. Wonder how hidden it is and for how long that will last.

Zelensky is not going to allow a "fool me twice" situation

Aug 17, 2025 (209/1461)

Zelensky has learned his lesson. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice….well you know. So he’s headed to meet with TOM and he’s bringing backup. “European leaders, including heavyweights France, Britain and Germany, are rallying around the Ukrainian leader after his exclusion from Trump’s summit on Friday with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Their pledge to be at Zelenskyy’s side at the White House on Monday is an apparent effort to ensure the meeting goes better than the last one in February, when Trump berated Zelenskyy in a heated Oval Office encounter.” You don’t bring a knife to a gunfight. TOM talks about having a WWE cage fight at the WH next year. Forget that. Sell ringside tickets to this matchup and you’ll make a lot more dough.

Because if one is good, two must be twice as good, right? Well actually, and more likely, twice as bad. “Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, R, has announced that his state will open a second immigration detention facility. The “Deportation Depot” will join “Alligator Alcatraz,” which is defending against another lawsuit. The Deportation Depot will open at a state prison called Baker Correctional Institute in Sanderson, about 45 miles west of Jacksonville.

DeSantis said the new facility will hold 1,300 immigration detention beds, but that number could get up to 2,000. The announcement comes as Alligator Alcatraz faces yet another lawsuit, this latest one over a reported disease outbreak.

The suit said a respiratory disease, possibly COVID-19, has spread through the facility.

“Migrants with fevers and coughs were left in their bunks without testing or treatment,” the complaint reads.”

As if one Hegsloth in the admin wasn’t bad enough. There are two. (See if one is good above….). Yes, twice as bad. And now the bros are melding their minds (they might get one whole brain when put together) for even greater evil and stupidity. “Philip Hegseth, brother of Defense Sec. Pete Hegseth and a senior advisor to the Department of Homeland Security, is calling for the military to help the Trump administration with its effort to deport people living in the U.S. illegally. A leaked memo attributed to Philip Hegseth outlines a proposal for the pentagon to send in troops to assist the trump administration’s mass deportation efforts. The plan laid out in the memo calls for operations much like those seen in L.A. in urban centers “for years to come.” The use of military forces in domestic matters is typically limited, but the memo suggests a potential shift in policy that could enhance collaboration between the Department of Defense and Homeland Security in addressing immigration challenges.” It Can’t Happen Here.  Until it does…..
